For anyone with even limited mechanical ability, to use the Melitta One to One, is an exquisite macabre experience of frustration. At its best the Melitta One To One is only able to brew a demitasse, "8 oz", size cup of coffee/tea. Overall valuation 1 out of five. One wonders why such a size cup from such an "over engineered" coffee/tea maker. The Melitta One To One designer appears to be a Magna-Cum-Laude graduate of the Rube Goldberg School of Mechanical Engineering. GOOD LUCK to anyone who owns one. I like the Keurig very much but it is a little out of my price range. I have not been able to get any answers from anyone on a way to fix this other than to replace the machine AGAIN.
The melitta javapod coffee is just so-so, but my daughter liked the hazelnuts and french kisses. I purchased other maker coffee pods that were much better and we happily used this machine for almost one year.
I purchased this as a package with a full set of coffee and tea pods.I like the convenience of just making one cup of coffee. The tea is terrible and I ended up throwing those away entirely. Unfortunately after only 3 months of use it no longer works - the coffee just comes out watery and she is using the 5oz setting.
Unfortunately it started leaking and we were unable to find a replacement spout - which was where it was leaking from. Since my daughter liked the machine so much I decided to buy another for her birthday - I found a good deal for the new model - which is MUCH easier to fill.
I cannot bring myself to buy another Melitta. A friend who has the Senseo is very happy with it.
Every once and a while it will drip from the top there, but that's only when i don't cram a teabag in properly and the edges stick out and break the seal so really it's my own fault. It also makes the shallow side come out in me because it is just so much more attractive than any other pod brewer on the market. I know there are a lot of complaints against the Melitta (believe me, i read all the reviews before deciding which pod brewer to purchase), but it really is my favorite for the price range. It has such a sleek modern style that makes the senseo look like a hunched over grandma, or as if its owner decided that an oven was the best place for storage. I've found that it'll take just about anything i can cram in that little pod holder from loose leaf tea to senseo pods, to tea bags. Honestly i bought one bag of melitta pods and haven't bought any more-i think they brew a pretty gross cuppa, but this machine is quite the trooper.I've used it faithfully every morning for almost a year now and have never seen the problems i've read of others, like the leaking and whatnot. It heats up fast, brews a decent cup of coffee (or tea), and looks good while doing it. What's not to love.
The Senseo pods fit in it just fine. I love my Melitta pod machine. You can use any pod coffee, not just Melitta. Remember that you need to make sure the pod is not hanging over the edge of the pod holder. The machine works great.
Could do a better job insulating water though. Very nice. Small, very useful, and inexpensive. Leaks just a bit, but not a big deal. Highly recommended.
